Susan Goodell (resident writer) is a proud participant in Rising Sun’s Governor’s Island Laboratorium the past three summers. Susan is author of the full-length HEELS OVER HEAD (Tri-State Actors Theatre; Rover Dramawerk’s Seconds Award) and HOPE THROWS HER HEART AWAY. The latter premiered at Genesis Theatrical Productions in Chicago with seven staged readings including the Virginia Stage Company and The Women’s Theatre Company. Her short plays have been staged at numerous venues including NYC’s The Abingdon (twice), the Boston Theatre Marathon (twice), The Source Festival and Mildred’s Umbrella (Best of a Decade). Other recognition: inclusion in Best American Short Plays 2014-2015, Best 10-Minute Plays 2016, and 105 Five-Minute Plays for Performance and Study.
