Artistic Development Programs
THE BLANK CHECK PROGRAM©
Rising Sun will select one artist per year to participate in this program. It is set up so that Directors can select, write, or adapt any theatrical piece of their choosing. The director will have complete and total artistic ownership of the project, and RSP gives free rein for exploration and creativity. RSP closes their eyes and lets the director and cast go wild.
OUT THERE PROGRAM ©
OUT THERE is RSP’s outreach program. RSP does outreach by providing touring performances, free performances, classes, and workshops to areas and demographics lacking in cultural events and education.
Free to all members, affiliates and guest artists, Lab Sessions are guided evenings of exploration, play, and practice. Participants can work on monologues, scene study, original writings, improvisation, songs, music, dance, test new writing and material in a safe supportive atmosphere, surrounded by likeminded peers. Select Sessions have been opened to the public for a $10 fee

ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Horse TRADE Theater Group
Veteran Residents 2005 to Current
Rising Sun was granted an open ended Artist In Residency at Horse Trade Theatre Group. Horse Trade in its physical manifestation is The Kraine Theater, The Red Room and UNDER St. Marks. Horse Trade in its artistic expression is a collective of resident artists and guest artists, each with their own unique voice producing engaging theater and provocative live entertainment. Horse Trade develops work from the ground up. The community of resident artists and artistic affiliates draw upon the deep pool of artistic talent, and production resources to create theater, which is vital and entertaining.
